Deputy Managing Director
Duncan & Toplis
I am a Chartered Accountant and the Deputy Managing Director of Duncan & Toplis. We have been the ICAEW medium-sized firm of the year for the East Midlands for the last three years and in 2017 are the Large Firm of the Year.
As Director in charge of our Newark office I directly oversee a team of 45 people and as a practising accountant have a diverse client base, mainly of family businesses. Our clients vary in size, but are predominantly in the region of £1m to £15m turnover. I am ‘hands-on’ and provide proactive, practical, commercial advice.
In addition to my client work I am a member of our Management Board which has responsibility for the overall performance of the firm. I also chair our IT Committee which has the responsibility for developing and delivering our computer strategy and overseeing the adoption of technology in our working practices.
With over 350 staff across our 11 offices (one of which is overseas) I have gained vast experience in delivering reliable IT functionality, including paperless working, integrated communications, multi-site working and remote working.
I am not a technical person but I know how technology can work to improve our business.
